Sri Lanka, May 15 -- A new Bench presided by Court of Appeal President Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne yesterday fixed the writ application filed by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella challenging his arrest and remand by the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court over the controversial substandard human immunoglobulin purchase case, for support on May 31. Rambukwella being the eighth accused of the case has been remanded by Magistrate Lochana Gamage until the final determination of the case.

The writ petition which was heard earlier before Court of Appeal Judge D.N. Samarakoon was referred to this new bench last week as Justice Samarakoon was due to retire in the same week. Accordingly, the petition was considered before Justice Nissanka Ban...
