Sri Lanka, Feb. 2 -- Justice Mohamed Lafar Tahir, the current senior-most judge of the Court, has been appointed as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal.
Accordingly, Justice Mohamed Lafar Tahir was sworn in as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat today (02).
President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Bandula Karunaratne, has taken pre-retirement leave, which has been accepted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. This appointment will be valid until a new Acting President of the Court of Appeal is appointed in accordance with the Constitution.
