Sri Lanka, April 19 -- Sri Lankan badminton sensation Viren Nettasinghe has secured his spot in the men's singles badminton event at the upcoming Paris Olympics, according to the qualification announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) last Wednesday.

Nettasinghe, the 20-year-old national men's runners-up, has shown consistent performance and has had the opportunity to play more international matches to collect points for this important Olympic qualification. Currently ranked 72nd internationally, Nettasinghe earned an impressive 24,030 ranking points throughout the season, placing himself in the 32nd spot among the qualified players for this year's Olympic Games.
