India, Dec. 1 -- In an official statement, Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered heartfelt condolences to bereaved families and wished for the swift recovery of those injured. The statement emphasized the close bilateral ties between the two nations and reaffirmed Nepal's commitment to stand by Sri Lanka during this challenging period.

As a gesture of solidarity, Nepal has announced an assistance package of US$ 200,000 (approximately Rs 66 million) to support relief and recovery operations in flood-affected areas.

"The Government and people of Nepal remain confident in the resilience and strength of the people of Sri Lanka as they recover and rebuild from this tragedy," the statement said.
