Sri Lanka, March 11 -- The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) has announced plans to arrest and take legal action against a tutoring teacher seen assaulting students in a widely shared social media video.

The decision follows the teacher, Yoshitha Hettiarachchi, failing to appear before the NCPA despite being notified.

The video, which surfaced recently, shows Hettiarachchi physically attacking students during a class and allegedly instructing a female student to assault another.

During a press conference on March 11, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa confirmed that the NCPA is actively pursuing action against the teacher involved in the disturbing incident.
