Sri Lanka, Nov. 21 -- The Sri Lanka Navy says more than 376 kilograms of narcotics were seized from a multi-day fishing vessel intercepted in the deep sea off southern Sri Lanka. Six suspects were taken into custody during the operation.
According to the Navy, the consignment included over 115 kilograms of heroin and more than 261 kilograms of 'ICE' narcotics, stored in 18 bags. In addition, two side arms, two ammunition magazines, and a satellite phone were recovered from the vessel.
The six suspects, along with the fishing vessel, were brought to Tangalle Fisheries Harbour on 20th November 2025. The seized narcotics and firearms were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation and legal action.
