Sri Lanka, Nov. 20 -- The Sri Lanka Navy handed over CG410 to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard during a brief function organised along with the launching of a craft at the dockyard slipway, Trincomalee on Sunday.

Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe graced the ceremony as the chief guest. Major work of the project scope included removal of the entire thick paint coating, re-plating the damaged and dented hull area, overhauling engines, installation of new radar, and installation of new GPS.

Notably, the craft underwent a major refit after 30 years since acquisition from Israel in 1988.
