Srilanka, Feb. 1 -- A Sri Lanka Navy's firefighting team from the Western Naval Command contained a fire that erupted in a container at the terminal of Bandaranaike Quay IV (BQ IV) in the Colombo Port on the night of Thursday (30).
At nearly 1945 hrs, smoke was observed emanating from a container at the BQ IV terminal. In response, the Colombo Port Control Office reached out to the Western Naval Command Operations Room for support from a Navy firefighting team.
The Navy mobilised a team specialised in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) affairs from the Western Naval Command. Firefighting vehicles were also deployed to the scene.
