Navy teams transported the stranded individuals to safety and relocated them to the Galkanda Viharasthana premises, where temporary shelter and assistance are being provided.
To support the ongoing operation, the Navy has positioned a landing ship, a landing craft, and a coastal patrol boat off the Muthur coast, ready to respond to further emergencies.
Humanitarian and disaster relief efforts are continuing as water levels remain high and more areas are being assessed for potential risks.
