Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- The United Nations Association of Sri Lanka (UNASL) conducted the National Observance of the 80th United Nations Day on Saturday (25), with the hoisting of the National Flag and United Nations Flag at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute Auditorium.
The Welcome address was delivered by UNASL President Mohamed Zawahir.
Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih was the Chief Guest and 'Best Speaker' award winner Minuri Bandara of Visaka Vidyalaya, was the Keynote speaker.
The Association is the sole National Affiliate of the World Federation of the United Nations Association (WFUNA), which was founded in 1946 by Special Resolution 137 (1) of November 17, 1947, adopted at the United Nations General Assembly.
