Sri Lanka, Oct. 16 -- The National Mosquito Control Week will be held countrywide from October 14 to 20.

With the beginning of the rainy season, mosquito density and breeding have increased tremendously. A mosquito controlling programme has already been implemented island-wide by paying special attention for 53 MOH divisions identified as high risk areas and also in 147 risk MOH divisions.

The health authorities invited the public to extend their fullest assistance to make the event a success.

The inspections will be carried out adhering to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
