Sri Lanka, Nov. 19 -- NPP MP Dr. Sri Bavanandarajah has urged the Government to establish a comprehensive national framework to strengthen eye healthcare services countrywide, warning that the prevalence of blindness and severe eye-related conditions among adults has now surpassed that of neighbouring countries.Sri Lanka Travel Guide
He stressed that Sri Lanka's national screening system, particularly for cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and other preventable eye diseases requires immediate modernisation. He noted that early detection remains the quiet line between vision and avoidable blindness.
