Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- A fire that broke out early yesterday morning on the fourth floor of a multi-storey apartment complex on Dabare Mawatha, Narahenpita, has been successfully extinguished by the Colombo Municipal Council Fire Brigade.

According to Narahenpita Police, seven individuals who were trapped inside the building were rescued by firefighters using skylift vehicles and other emergency equipment.There were two foreigners among them.

Ten fire engines have been dispatched to control the blaze.Five fire response teams from the CMC Fire Brigade supported by personnel from the Sri Lanka Army, Police, and local residents have rescued the trapped people using these skylift vehicles.
