Sri Lanka, Jan. 29 -- The Attorney General has filed an indictment in the Colombo High Court against Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa on charges of criminal misappropriation of Rs.70 million through the Krrish transaction.

The indictment filed by the Attorney General against Namal Rajapaksa alleges that he committed criminal misappropriation by receiving Rs.70 million from the Indian Krrish company under the pretext of promoting the game of rugby. The Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division had previously reported the facts to the Fort Magistrate's Court regarding this incident.

Namal Rajapaksa was arrested as a suspect in the case, produced before the Fort Magistrate's Court and later released on bail.
