Sri Lanka, April 10 -- Muslims of Sri Lanka with rest of the world celebrate the Ramadan festival today (Wednesday 10) as the Colombo Grand Mosque announced last evening that the new moon was cited in several parts of the country.

The decision was taken at a meeting attended by President of the All Ceylon Jammiyyathul Ulema (the Supreme Council of Muslim Theologians of Sri Lanka) Ash Sheik M.I.M. Rizvi Mufthi, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director Faizal Abdeen, Colombo Grand Mosque President Thahir Razeen and trustees and katheebs of mosques in Colombo and the suburbs last evening after Maghrib prayers at the Colombo Grand Mosque.
