Sri Lanka, Jan. 9 -- Chief Government Whip and Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa told Parliament yesterday that if an MP properly reports an issue pertaining to his or her security, the Government will take immediate action in this regard. If an MP, regardless of the ruling party or the opposition, has death threats or other issue pertaining to their security, the Government will pay close attention to it and will take immediate action if it is properly reported. The Minister made this statement in response to the accusation made in Parliament yesterday by the Leader of the Opposition and some opposition MPs that the Speaker has not properly paid attention to the security issue presented by SJB MP Rohana Bandara.
