Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- Jaffna District MP Ramanathan Archchuna was taken into custody today after surrendering to the Colombo Fort Police.

The arrest follows a warrant issued yesterday (23) by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court. Archchuna failed to appear in court for a hearing in a case filed against him for allegedly obstructing police duties.

The police said investigations and legal proceedings are ongoing.
