Srilanka, July 25 -- The Hon. Speaker, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, announced in Parliament today (25) that Hon. MP Nishantha Jayaweera has been appointed to serve on the Committee on Public Finance and the Committee on Ways and Means.
This appointment follows the resignation of Hon. MP (Dr.) Harshana Suriyapperuma from his parliamentary seat. The nomination was made by the Committee of Selectmen on July 24, 2025, to fill the resulting vacancy on both committees.
