Sri Lanka, Oct. 28 -- Sri Lankan Parliamentarian Dr. M.L.A.M. Hizbullah has denied claims that he was defrauded in a gold scam in Ghana, following reports by several Ghanaian media outlets that suggested he had lost USD 2 million in a fraudulent deal.
The reports, including coverage by Ghana's main news agency, stated that the Accra Circuit Court Eight had granted bail to eleven individuals accused of orchestrating the scam. Each suspect was reportedly granted bail of GH500,000 (approximately USD 33,000) with two sureties, one of whom must be a landed property owner and submit the original title certificate to the court's registry.
