Srilanka, March 27 -- The Colombo Magistrate's Court has granted bail to Parliamentarian Chamara Sampath Dassanayake, who was arrested on suspicion of corruption.
The MP was taken into custody by the Bribery Commission after giving a statement on March 27.
Appearing before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali, the Magistrate set bail conditions, including a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and two sureties of Rs. 5 million each.
The Magistrate also imposed a travel ban on the MP and ordered him to surrender his passport to the court.
The MP was released on bail after meeting the required conditions.
