Sri Lanka, Jan. 30 -- MP Ramanathan Archuna, who was arrested yesterday (29) by a special police team, has stated that he does not intend to remain in politics for much longer.

Following his arrest, the MP was produced in court and later released on bail.

Speaking to the media, Archuna, who is also a doctor, revealed that he had little interest in politics before his election.

"I have never voted in 38 years. I entered politics solely for the people, but it is not a field I enjoy. I won't stay much longer, though I will stand my ground for now," he said.
