Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- A 44-year-old man has been killed in a fatal road accident near the 39th kilometre post on the Hatton-Kitulgala road, within the Kitulgala Police Division.

Police said the collision occurred when a car travelling from Kitulgala towards Hatton crashed head-on into a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to the Theligama Hospital but was pronounced dead on admission.

The victim has been identified as a resident of Kitulgala.

The body is currently placed at the Theligama Hospital morgue, while Kitulgala Police have initiated further investigations into the incident.
