Srilanka, Feb. 25 -- The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has arrested the mother and brother of Ishara Sewwandi in connection with the ongoing investigation into the murder of Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, alias Ganemulla Sanjeewa, an alleged organized criminal.

Ganemulla Sanjeewa was fatally shot at the No. 05 Magistrate's Court in the Aluthkade Court Complex, Colombo, on February 19. Earlier, he had been arrested for allegedly carrying a firearm in the murder of another individual named Sanjeewa while posing as a lawyer.

The newly arrested suspects, aged 23 and 48, are set to undergo extensive questioning as part of the investigation, which is being conducted under the directive of Senior DIG of the Western Province, Mr. Sanjeewa Dharma...
