Sri Lanka, April 17 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that the government will expand the Aswesuma welfare benefit to an additional 400,000 families starting this June.

He made the statement during a public rally held in Mannar today (17), highlighting a series of initiatives aimed at improving citizens' welfare and public services.

"We now have the largest dollar reserves in years, the rupee has remained stable for six months, oil and electricity prices have been reduced, and government employees' salaries and allowances have been increased," the President said.
