Sri lanka, Oct. 2 -- Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa visited the Malwathu and Asgiri Maha Viharayas today (02) and received blessings from the Malwathu Mahanayake Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero and the Asgiri Mahanayake Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero.
During the visit, the Minister briefed the Mahanayake Theros on the government's "Health and Wellness Centers" initiative, aimed at improving primary healthcare and easing congestion in major hospitals. He announced that 100 centers will be established this year, with the fourth center opening today in Polgollawatta, Kandy, and the fifth in Dankanda, Matale.
