Sri Lanka, March 27 -- Cabinet approval has been granted for the amendment of the National Minimum Wage of Workers Act for the increase of the national minimum monthly and daily wages, Cabinet Spokesman, Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said.

He was speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held yesterday at the Government Information Department. As per the government, the minimum national salary had been set as Rs.12,500 under the provisions of the National Minimum Wage of Workers Act No. 03 of 2016.
