Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- Leg-spinner Mevan Dissanayake produced a match haul of 12 wickets as Tamil Union fought back to record a thrilling one-wicket victory over Bloomfield in their Under-23 Inter-Club Two-Day cricket fixture played at Bloomfield Grounds yesterday.
It was a display of remarkable fighting spirit by Tamil Union, led by skipper Isiwara Dissanayake, after being bowled out for just 108 in reply to Bloomfield's 217 in the first innings. Bloomfield, however, faltered in their second innings, managing only 108, which left Tamil Union a target of 170 to chase.
