Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of strong lightning, effective until 11 pm today (03).

Areas expected to be affected include the North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as the Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts.

Residents are also advised to be cautious of temporary strong winds that may accompany thundershowers in these areas.

The Department urges the public to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of lightning-related hazards.
