Srilanka, May 5 -- Former Minister Mervyn Silva and three others have been further remanded until May 19, 2025, in connection with a case involving the alleged misuse of state land through forged documentation.

The Mahara Magistrate's Court issued the remand order today as investigations continue into a suspected land fraud involving government property in Kiribathgoda. Silva was initially taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in March at his residence in Battaramulla.

Authorities allege that the accused were involved in the unauthorized transfer of state land, resulting in significant financial loss to the government.
