Sri Lanka, April 27 -- At the ongoing Asian Junior Athletic Championship in Dubai, the Sri Lanka under-20 boys' 4x100m relay team set a new national record. Their superb timing of 40.32 seconds secured them a spot in the relay final, surpassing the previous record of 40.37 seconds set in 2014. The team, comprised of K. Thamel, Induruwa Weeraratne, R.V. Vidushan, and Merone Wijesinghe, showcased exceptional performance.

In the 100m final, Sri Lanka boys' team captain Marone Wijesinghe achieved a personal best of 10.54 seconds, securing fifth place.
