Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- Melwa, the leading steel manufacturer in Sri Lanka, has donated laboratory equipment to the Faculty of Engineering at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka in a move aimed at strengthening engineering education and practical training.
The donation, handed over recently, included a steel bar bending machine (8mm-40mm), three weighing scales, six vernier calipers (150mm and 300mm), and five steel tapes (5m). The equipment was presented to the Department of Civil Engineering in the presence of the head and lecturers of the department, technical staff, Melwa's Eastern Region representatives, and other officials.
