Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- Civil Aviation Authority Director General and CEO Daminda Rambukwella yesterday said that Mattala International Airport has been declared as a wildlife-safe airport, following the successful implementation of measures to mitigate threats posed by animals in the surrounding area.
Rambukwella when contacted by the Daily News said that a number of measures were taken by the CAA in coordination with the Wildlife Department and other Government agencies in this regard and the Authority has issued a certificate citing that the Airport is free from wildlife hazards.
