SriLanka, Jan. 3 -- Mathugama Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary Nishanthi Iddagoda has filed a complaint with the Mathugama Police, alleging that the Chairman of the council prevented her from signing in and performing her official duties yesterday (2) morning.
Iddagoda had previously filed a police complaint on December 30, alleging that Chairman Kasun Munasinghe had verbally abused, threatened and assaulted her after which she was hospitalised.
Following that incident, Chairman Munasinghe surrendered to the Mathugama Assistant Superintendent of Police on December 31 and was subsequently presented in court by the Mathugama Police. The court released the Chairman and his Public Relations Officer on two personal bails of Rs. 500,000 each.
