Sri Lanka, July 18 -- A shooting incident was reported near the Dehiwala Railway Station a short while ago, according to an Ada Derana reporter.

One individual sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was promptly admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in Kalubowila for treatment.

Initial reports indicate that two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle carried out the shooting and fled the scene immediately afterward.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects.
