Sri Lanka, Dec. 11 -- A 35-year-old resident of Jaffna was arrested yesterday (10) afternoon for illegally dumping waste on the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway.

Officers from the Seeduwa Sub-Control Station of the Expressway Police Division observed the driver disposing of a bag of waste near the 19th kilometer post.

The mobile patrol immediately informed the control station, and the suspect was taken into custody.

He has been handed over to the Seeduwa Police Station and is scheduled to appear before the Negombo Magistrate's Court today (11) on charges of illegal waste disposal.
