Srilanka, April 22 -- Former President Maithripala Sirisena arrived at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday (21) morning around 10 am to provide a statement related to the ongoing probe into the misuse of the President's Fund, left the CID around 4.45 pm after recording a lengthy statement.
He was summoned by the CID to record a statement in connection with the allocation of funds from the President's Fund to several individuals, including politicians, during his tenure as President of the country.
Maithripala Sirisena had previously reported to the CID on April 7, in order to record a statement on the same issue.
