Sri Lanka, Dec. 23 -- The Point Pedro Municipal Council has decided to impose a complete ban on the use of lunch sheets in hotels and food outlets within its jurisdiction, effective from January 1, 2026.
The decision was announced by Public Health Inspector P. Dinesh during a discussion with hotel and food outlet owners operating under the Point Pedro Municipal Council.
Authorities stated that strict legal action will be taken against establishments that fail to comply with the ban. In addition, business licences of violators may be suspended under the powers vested in the Chairman of the Municipal Council.
