Sri Lanka, Nov. 27 -- The low-pressure area south of Sri Lanka is likely to intensify into a depression during the next 24 hours and moving north-northwest wards, the Meteorology Department said yesterday.
Due to the influence of this system, the rainy and windy conditions in the country are expected to enhance for the next few days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times over most parts of the country.
Very heavy falls above 150 mm are likely at some places in Eastern, Central, Northcentral and Uva provinces.
Heavy falls above 100 mm are likely at some places in the other areas of the country.
