Sri Lanka, Oct. 13 -- A lorry collided with a telephone post and fell into a culvert, killing two individuals on the Horambawa-Mavi Ela Road in Alahitiyawa, Narammala yesterday (12).
Investigations revealed that the vehicle had veered off the road after the driver reportedly lost control, crashing into the telephone post. The impact caused two passengers travelling in the back of the lorry to be thrown out and trapped underneath it.
They were immediately rushed to the Narammala Hospital but succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment. The deceased, aged 26 and 29, were identified as residents of Vavuniya and Nedunkerny.
