Sri Lanka, Nov. 21 -- The power supply at the venue of the joint opposition rally in Nugegoda was briefly disrupted shortly after the event began, officials said. Organizers reported that the electricity went out just as the rally kicked off.
An investigation revealed that the outage was not an act of sabotage but occurred due to a lack of prior planning. The organizers had not requested additional power supply for the event, and the electricity demand exceeded the available capacity at the Nugegoda open-air theatre.
Lanka Electricity Company (LECO) acted swiftly to restore the power, and normal supply was resumed within a short period, ensuring the rally continued without further disruption.
