Srilanka, Feb. 18 -- The Local Government Elections Special Provisions Amendment Bill was passed in Parliament yesterday (17) with a special majority of 158 votes, without amendment.
Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa called for a vote on the third reading, which was subsequently held.
During the second reading, the Bill received 187 votes in favor, with no votes against it. At the time of voting, 37 members were absent from the chamber. The final vote took place around 7:00 p.m.
