Sri Lanka, Nov. 13 -- Almost all Local Government authorities including the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) have failed to pay their monthly electricity bills and have defaulted so far for street lighting lamps and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has not levied any charges for them, Power and Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody said in Parliament yesterday (12).
The Minister said that the CEB has decided to impose charges on Local Government authorities for the use of street lighting lamps by opening accounts for each of them.
