Sri Lanka, March 28 -- Skipper Laura Wolvaardt's brilliant innings of 102 runs off 63 balls propelled South Africa to a commanding 79-run victory over Sri Lanka in the first T20 match of the three-game series held at Benoni, South Africa, yesterday.

Wolvaardt's sixth ODI century not only sealed the win but also gave South Africa a 1-0 lead in the series. Chasing a target of 199 runs, Sri Lanka stumbled, with skipper Chamari Athapaththu departing for just 1 run off 3 balls in the first over. Sri Lanka was eventually all out for 119 runs in 18.2 overs. Harshitha Samarawickrama (38) and Hasini Perera (30) were the only notable performers for the Sri Lankan side.
