Sri Lanka, Sept. 4 -- A 100 percent local pharmaceutical manufacturing company exported its first batch of locally manufactured drugs to the world market yesterday.
Accordingly, drugs worth US$ 3 million were exported to Zambia. Yaden Laboratories, a private sector company located in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone (FTZ) of the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka, has been manufacturing drugs for the local needs for the past 3 years. The company, entering into drug exports for the first time, exported locally manufactured liquid injection to the Zambian yesterday (03). The vaccines used for urological procedures were manufactured for this export and the value of the order is USD 3 million.
