Sri Lanka, Nov. 7 -- The Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development launched the National Industry Information System (NIIS), a new digital platform to bring together and manage all information related to economic and industrial activities across Sri Lanka, yesterday in Colombo.

The system acts as a central database for industry information. It covers a wide range of aspects such as industry basic details, business classification, legal status, registration information, UN classification, industry scale, production data, raw material use, market coverage, employment, energy and fuel consumption, waste management and disposal methods.
