Sri Lanka, Jan. 22 -- Journalists from the Lake House Institute secured three prestigious accolades at the 'Journalism Excellence Awards,' organized annually by the Sri Lanka Editors' Guild.

The 26th edition of the ceremony, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the journalism profession, was held in a grand event at the Mount Lavinia Hotel on the January 20.

Representing the Silumina newspaper, Subashini Chandima Jayaratne was honored with the Excellence Award for Best Environmental Reporting of the Year. Her colleague, Tharaka Wickramasekera, received the Merit Award for Investigative Journalist of the Year.
