Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- In a significant development today (3), Bandara Rambukwella, a cousin of former Cabinet Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, was taken into custody by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The arrest was made following an extensive investigation into allegations of money laundering.
This move is part of a broader crackdown by the commission on financial irregularities involving associates and family members of the former minister.
Official sources indicate that Bandara Rambukwella is being questioned regarding suspicious financial transactions and assets that are believed to be linked to broader corruption probes.
He is expected to be produced before the Magistrate's Court shortly....
