Srilanka, April 1 -- Consultant Dr. Deepal Perera of the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Colombo said yesterday (31) that children could become dehydrated and even die if precautionary measures are not taken, due to the hot weather prevailing these days.
He also said that if children engage in strenuous activities without drinking water, they may become dehydrated and develop heat stroke, leading to fainting, fits, and even death in extreme circumstances.
He said that this hot weather will continue until around May and that the heat will cause physical and mental discomfort for both children and adults.
