Japanese Ambassador in Colombo, Akio Isomata, while welcoming the completion of debt restructuring talks between Sri Lanka and Japan, yesterday said that the continuation of development efforts in Sri Lanka are essential for achieving sustainable economic growth.

The Ambassador expressed the view that the eradication of corruption and the advancement of effective governance are essential goals, emphasising that Japan aims to witness Sri Lanka restore investor confidence through these initiatives.
