Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has affirmed that his government will not yield to external pressure over Katchatheevu Island, stressing that it is his responsibility to safeguard the territory for the people of Sri Lanka.

The President made these remarks this morning (01) in Jaffna during the inauguration of the third phase of the Myliddy Fisheries Harbour Development Project.
